The North Carolina A T State University Choir will sing in Birmingham on Friday, April 11, 7 p.m., at Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 1530 Fourth Ave. North.
The choir is directed by Travis W. Alexander, director of university choirs and piano Professor.The concert is free and open to the public.

The University Choir is the official ensemble of the university and the major choral unit for the College of Arts and Sciences and Department of Visual and Performing Arts. It serves the campus and community by providing music for events such as Convocation, Commencement, Inaugurations, Founder's Day, MLK Celebrations, Greensboro Bicentennial and other campus and community events. The University Choir produces at least two major concerts per year on campus and extensively tours annually in the spring. This ensemble also serves as the major ensemble for all music majors specializing in voice and keyboard.
The choir performed in concert at the White House in 2012. They were invited back for an encore performance by President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and the office staff in celebration of Black History Month. North Carolina A T s Choir is known for concert tours, appearances and riveting and versatile choral repertoire.
